Little Boy

I am soo excited as yesterday I found out that my brother and his wife are expecting a boy in the Autumn! I was kind of hoping it would be a boy as it would be nice to have a nephew as well as a niece. I would have, of course, been happy either way as I just love being an auntie and spending time with my niece (although she completely tires me out!). I am pleased for her as well as she wanted a little brother.

So, now we just wait to meet baby and in the meantime have fun guessing what his parents might call him! I'm with my niece - Baby Chicken is a perfectly sensible, respectable name! :o)

Finally! Green Day tour again!

I have been waiting 4 years for this and now it's finally happening. Green Day are touring again and my sister managed to get us tickets to see them at Wembley Arena in November! I saw them at Milton Keynes Bowl in June 2005 and absolutely loved it! It was a fantastic day and although I'm yet to hear their new album (due to the fact it's not released until 15th May) I am sure this gig will be just as great. (You may have picked up on the fact that I am a huge Green Day fan, it's fairly obvious by my excitement.)

I've got a while to wait but I am already really looking forward to it.

Happy Birthday Mum!

Today is my Mum's Birthday and I just want to say 'Happy Birthday Mum'! I know it happens to have fallen on a Friday this year (the dreaded Friday 13th) but I'm sure that won't affect you having a good day!

Happy Birthday!

The saddest movie I've ever seen!

I don't often go to the cinema these days but yesterday I went to go see Marley and Me with my sister and a friend. I had seen trailers for the film and I like Owen Wilson so was quite excited to see it. Well, I should really research movies more before going to see them!!!

I feel it is now my duty to give out a warning - Marley and Me is the saddest film I have ever seen! If you are an animal lover (particularly dogs) then I suggest you take a whole box of tissues, I wish I had!!! I cried my eyes out and I don't often do that over films.

Having said that, I do recommend the film as it is actually really funny and very touching. It is worth seeing so please don't let this warning put you off, just be prepared! :o)

How very rude!

I'm a fairly laid back kinda person and it normally takes a lot to anger me. Today I got angry!!

After a fairly uneventful and really quite boring day at work I was quite relieved to be coming home. There I was driving down the road quite happily when suddenly I had to slam the brakes on. Some absolute idiot jumped out in front of me (in his car I might add) from a slip road at the very last minute. Luckily I was able to brake just in time but it was very close and a very dangerous thing to do. That was it, I was instantly wound up and could feel my face contorting into a menacing scowl. I would have hit the horn to show my outrage and anger but I couldn't remember where it was at the time (they really should be in the same place in all cars!) so Jo lent over and hit it for me!

THEN to add insult to injury HE used some kind of hand gesture at ME!!! How rude! So, HE jumped out in front of me, HE was in the wrong, HE could have caused an accident and then HE abused me!!!! How is that right??? I was so incensed that I then started having a go at him from my car to his whilst glaring at him in his rear view mirror! Obviously he couldn't hear me but it made me feel better, well a little anyway.

I'm going to start a campaign 'Get idiots off the road'! Who's with me?

Rant over!

Bye bye!

So I have literally just finished my first blog and already I have something else to write about!

Here goes!

This is the week I have been dreading for the last 4 weeks. My sister & I work for the same company but 4 weeks ago she was made redundant. Rather unfairly, I feel, she has been made to work her notice but now the day is approaching. Friday will be her last day!! Whereas I do feel bad for her I also feel this is a good thing to happen to her. In a VERY odd way, I believe it is a blessing!
I, on the other hand, am still there but hope to find something else very soon. I'm remaining very positive (even considering the current employment state of our country) that I will find something - fingers crossed!!!!

Me & mine

I've been sat here for some time now trying to decide what my first blog should be about. I guess there is no better subject to write about than my life so I shall start there.

My family consists of Me, Mum, Dad, older brother, older sister and our gorgeous Golden Retriever . That is my immediate family, then there is my sister-in-law and my beautiful niece.

We are a very close family. My sister and I are so close that we have even worked together for the last 8 1/2 years! She is my BEST friend and I love her to bits. She is 4 1/2 years older than me and whereas that used to seem like a big age gap it really doesn't anymore. We spend a lot of time together and have mostly joint friends. This wasn't always the case, I used to be the annoying little sister. It was the old scenario of when she was going out with friends Mum would say to her 'take your sister with you'. Thankfully she no longer needs prompting as she seems to like to spend time with me!

My brother is 8 years older than me and that has always seemed like a big age gap. Even now I still feel very much like his 'baby' sister. He likes to remind me that he used to change my nappies so maybe he thinks of himself as more of a Father figure to me? He was a good big brother to have growing up though as he used to play with me and buy me little presents when he went out (that makes me sound materialistic but I just find it sweet that he did things like that).

My parents are my rock. I know that sound mushy but they really are. They have always been there for me whenever I have needed them and have always supported me in whatever I've done - even if they had reservations themselves. They are very much of the opinion that you have to find things out for yourself, they can help and advise but at the end of the day it's your decision. They are great and very patient with me as well.

My dog is 11 years old, soon to be 12, and lots of fun. She may be an older dog now but is still full of beans! She is very good at cheering you up as well, she just disappears and returns with one of her toys!

Anyway that's my family!

Introduction

Ok, here goes. I am new to blogging but thought I'd give it a try as both my Mum and sister blog and find it therapeutic. I'm not sure my life is exciting enough to document but I'll try to jazz it up for entertainment purposes.

Thanks for looking, I'll be in touch!
